Headlamps: lighting the way

If you're climbing outdoors or camping at a climbing spot, chances are you will be outside in the dark at some point. Whether it's early starts to get to crags, or late finishes on challenging projects, a headlamp is an invaluable piece of equipment. The latest headlamps have energy-efficient LEDs and are powered either by disposable or rechargeable batteries. The lamps attach to an elastic and adjustable strap that can be optimally fitted to the helmet so it doesn't slip. The intensity and width of the beam can often also be adjusted.
