MARIUS pattern. Originally​ designed Unn Søiland, in 1953. Named after the slalomskier, warhero and actor Marius Eriksen, photographed for the first handknitpattern. This is the most frequently handknitted pattern in Norway. Norwegians relate this to their typical sporty outdoor-culture and tranditions. Today the pattern is a Norwegian ikon.
