Small in pack size, big in skill! The Kabru Light III down jacket by Vaude is the epitome of a multifunctional down jacket.
While the RDS-certified down provides comforting warmth on the inside, the stable Pertex Quantum outer material ensures robustness and lightness. Stretch inserts under the arms optimise freedom of movement, cuffs and side torso chambers are lined with PrimaLoft Silver Insulation Eco, which is insensitive to moisture.
Another big advantage is the jacket's extremely good compressibility - packed in its stowage pocket, it fits in any backpack. We would also like to mention the sustainable, environmentally-friendly and fair production that runs like a red thread at Vaude. Recommendable in every respect!
Ultralight (30g/m²) outer material for insulation jackets and sleeping bags. Pertex Quantum is characterised by an extremely small packing size and an exceptional ratio of robustness to weight.
PrimaLoft Silver Insulation Eco
PrimaLoft Silver Insulation Eco is considered the most powerful and environmentally friendly insulation, with 70% of its fibers made from used plastic bottles. Despite its light weight, this material offers a lot of warmth. The fabric can also be compressed if desired.
With the Responsible Down Standard (RDS), VAUDE ensures that the down or feathers used in its products come exclusively from geese, ducks or other waterfowl that have been treated in an animal welfare-friendly manner. It explicitly excludes practices such as live plucking and production of foie gras. The RDS is awarded by the independent organization Textile Exchange and enables VAUDE to trace down and feathers throughout the entire supply chain.
VAUDE products with Eco Finish are manufactured in an environmentally-friendly water-repellent manner without fluorocarbons (PFC). PFC belong to a group of chemical compounds that are used in many outdoor products to impregnate the outer fabric. They have been criticised for not being degradable, accumulating in the body and being suspected of being harmful to health. VAUDE has a clear commitment to not use PFC at all.
Fair Wear Foundation
VAUDE is committed to good working conditions and fair wages for all and is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF). This means that Vaude is committed to continuously improving working conditions at all its production sites. These are checked regularly. VAUDE has achieved the highest status as a FWF member with Leader status.
Green Shape is the VAUDE seal of approval for products that are manufactured in a particularly environmentally-friendly manner. This includes the complete production cycle from development and production to maintenance and usability after use. The criteria for this are strict. The products must consist either of at least 90 percent organically grown cotton, recycled materials or the Tencel wood fibre. Furthermore, they must have been dyed with the environmentally friendly dyeing process VAUDE eColour or meet the world's strictest environmental textile standard Bluesign. VAUDE's goal is the best for man and nature.
