We have been taking these poles for years on our motorbike tours for the Tarp. They have already suffered a lot of storms. Nice to have them in many different lengths. Furthermore they are very light and to a great pack size to reduce. (From the perspective of a motorcyclist) However, sometimes they can be pulled apart badly when they are wet in one another. (Aluminum abrasion). Unfortunately the segments are not available separately. Contrary to the statement of the employees of Tatonka, one can combine however also single pieces from other rods with different lengths. (If an upper part of a "long" rod is defective, a shorter, and more favorable, rod can be taken for a replacement segment)
