I ordered the case despite the negative reviews and I have to say: it fits me. Very stable on the outside, soft on the inside with mesh pockets so that nothing slips and there is a good hold. I pack my Silva Expedition S mirror compass and an analogue altimeter from Thommen. Both devices are thus optimally protected, especially if the case is e.g. disappears in the backpack.
BUT caution is still required. According to the label on the case, it is suitable for the Silva models Field, Ranger, Nor, Race.
As described, my Expedition (dimensions: 11x7x2 cm) fits in, although not named, but just about so, because of the rounded compass base plate. My Suunto M-2 (no rounded base plate, only 10.5x 6.5x1.8 cm) also fits in, but it's a bit fiddly to get it out again. You should therefore definitely check the specified dimensions before buying and compare them with the dimensions of your own device, which should be in the case!!!
