The thumb is as big as the middle finger. Apart from that, they are great, of high quality and reliable, keep you slightly warm and, as expected, quickly get too (little) warm in extreme temperatures. The upholstery does what it should and with a little practice, gripping is good enough and reliable. The touchscreen finger is enough to activate the surface, is of course a bit rough for smartphone operation, but it works for everything else.
