The shovel is wonderfully light and very compact in the collapsed state. Therefore, it is very suitable for mobile use. It makes a robust impression and the first tests with sand and loose soil has put them off without any problem. I use it to fill a so-called Bohnesackstativ (The POD) while hikening and biking. For such small tasks it is perfect, but it will hardly be able to replace a folding spade.
