Sea to Summit's Flame range of sleeping bags has been specifically designed for women to provide high comfort and light performance for a demanding range of applications. All Flame sleeping bags are characterized by their ultra-light weight and minimal packing size as well as an excellent thermal performance. The Flame FmIII's fully sewn vertical boxing chambers contain an extra amount of down and reduce cold bridges. The expedition size of the sleeping bag provides extra space for additional layers of clothing. The vertical chambers in the chest area optimize the distribution of the down and prevent slipping. A full-sided zipper with two sliders allows for a comfortable fit and variable ventilation. A zipper channel, a hood and a heat collar prevent heat loss.

Ultra Dry Down
UltraDry Down is a PFC-free water-repellant treatment applied to the down used in all Sea to Summit sleeping bags. UltraDry Down retains over 60 % more loft, absorbs 30 % less moisture and dries out 60 % faster when compared to untreated down – which means the down will insulate better even in damp conditions. The treatment also inhibits bacterial growth, making your bag last longer.

Miserable sleeping bag

I bought the Flame 3 sleeping bag, comfort temperature -4°C for backpacking in the summer: I spent a month in the Swiss and Slovenian Alps (June/July) and a month in Iceland (August). Every single night that was below 10°C I froze in this sleeping bag. I had to use the silk sleeping bag, wear Merino underwear and usually also the down jacket so that I could sleep. And that with the Therm a Rest NeoAir® XTherm sleeping mat. This was truly the worst purchase of my life. I have a Marmot sleeping bag with a comfort temperature of -4°C in which I have never felt cold, even at sub-zero temperatures. These sleeping bags are two different worlds. I would not recommend this Flame 3 sleeping bag!

One hell of a sleeping bag

I was looking for a lighter and warmer sleeping bag for backpacking camping trips. The Sea to Summit Flame FmIII is one hell of a sleeping bag. It is lightweight. Compact to take with you and nice and warm. Exactly what I was looking for. Only the color is described as red/grey while it is orange/grey. It is only available with the zipper on the right. Would be practical if it was also available with zipper on the left.
