The towel range now includes the Airlite: an ultralight and super compact towel designed for minimalist adventures and everyday activities. The Airlite fabric is 50 % lighter than the Sea to Summit Pocket Towel. Like all the Sea to Summit towels, it is made from microfibre yarn allowing it to absorb over three times its weight in water. The low fabric weight results in a high surface area making the Airlite the fastest drying towel of Sea to Summit. After use, simply tie it to your backpack and it will dry in no time.
By laser-cutting the edge instead of over-locking, Sea to Summit has further reduced the exceptionally small packed size so it fits easily in a backpack waistbelt, gym bag or travel tote. The storage stuff sack is connected with a press stud to keep them together and can be disconnected during use. When hanging the towel, reconnect the stuff sack and hang on the webbing strap. They are colour-matched to the towel and clearly labelled for easy identification.
Microfibre Technology
Microfibre is an incredibly fine Nylon/Polyester fibre blend with deep channels along its length that give it an enormous surface area—a cross section of a microfibre looks a lot like the logo. When woven into a fabric we end up with a soft hand-feel fabric that is ten times more absorbent than cotton. Being a synthetic, though, the fabric can easily be wrung out and dries very quickly. Quick drying fabric is not only much more efficient and practical, it can be much more hygienic than fibres that retain moisture which promotes bacterial growth.
