For the last 6-7 years I have used Scarpa approach shoes for just this, and used them for everything else as well. Model Vitamin. Now they are finished and I have been looking forward to this newer edition with interest and joy. Which I then bought two pairs of. But, unfortunately, there are a number of issues with the shoes. First, they have become a little bit smaller. So I know that my feet change, but the shoe itself seems a bit shorter and narrower. Next, they use some really thin and lousy laces, which you certainly can not easily lace or ditto with gloves on when the terrain changes. The shoe itself is very nicely made with sole, upper and rubber protection. However, in my model, there is no water membrane. It is the big brother you must have if this is desired. However, the most problematic is the heel cap, which does not hold properly on the heel and foot, which therefore moves more up and down, than with the previous Vitamin models, and this causes frictional damage to both the feet and the shoe lining in the heel, which is also made to be a very thin layer, which is also hard.
I can not recommend this shoe. I have talked to two others who experienced exactly the same thing. You can not necessarily get these impressions when you first try the shoe either at home or in a store. So unfortunately it is too late for me to return them. It is a pity that Scarpa has made a nice but actually much worse shoe than their previous Vitamin model. Before you buy this model - Zodiac, think twice. I also have other Scarpa footwear, namely boots, and they are just extremely good, fit perfectly and are really tough - Scarpa Phantom Guide. Buy in at least one size than you normally use, as Scarpa is quite small in size - Italian. But otherwise very nicely made shoes, but with reservations. They are certainly not cheap, so it is quite disappointing to have spent a lot of money on these shoes. I can see that on foreign used sites, there are a lot of them for sale, almost new, so that should say a lot. Choose for yourself, but try hard. It's an ommer Scarpa.
