The MTN Trainer Mid GTX is a lightweight men’s alpine trekking boot with a robust suede leather and fabric upper plus waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX protection.

Designed to provide extra flexibility and increased comfort on both ascents and descents during alpine trekking in mixed and technical terrain, the MTN Trainer Mid GTX has a midsole with dual-density Bilight TPU Technology which is ergonomically shaped to cradle your foot and provide all-day comfort on longer hikes.

At the ankle, the Flex Collar allows natural movement and adaptability during descents for extended comfort, even when carrying a heavy pack. Underfoot, the lightweight, compact Vibram WTC sole delivers solid yet forgiving walkability. And SALEWA’s 3F System provides flexibility, support and a blister-free fit from day one. In addition, the GORE-TEX Performance Comfort lining delivers optimized weather protection and climate comfort, and a cushioning OrthoLite footbed wicks away moisture, helping to keep your feet cool.

Climbing lacing
Climbing Lacing offers precise lacing in the toe area of the shoe for more support and performance in difficult terrain.

Vibram
All the outsoles of both the technical mountaineering shoes and the Approach shoes are exclusive to Salewa. They have been developed in collaboration with Vibram's technical department with the aim of achieving the highest possible level of support, durability and comfort. The soles are the point of contact between the athlete and the surface.

Gore-Tex
In the technical apparel industry, Gore-Tex laminates are the first choice when it comes to waterproofing, breathability and durability. The Gore-Tex membrane is absolutely waterproof and at the same time allows perspiration to be transported to the outside. It consists of pores 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water and 700 times larger than a molecule of water vapour, so water cannot penetrate from the outside and moisture can escape from the inside.

Cleansport NXT
With this innovative treatment, which is non-toxic and very environmentally friendly, called Cleansport NXT, 100,000,000 good self-activating microbes stick to every square centimetre of fabric. This results in a proactive surface that is functional as soon as the pre-treated fabric comes into contact with perspiration.

Flex collar
Thanks to a curved back, the Flex Collar provides the ankle with more room to move backwards and thus more comfort during fast descents with large steps.
