Running and jogging equipment
Running began in the USA in the early 1960s. Enthusiasm for the sport soon grew in Europe and it remains it popular to this day. The number of people interested in running increases year by year, a fact evident in the growing participation in running races and events. The popularity of running is due to the fact that you do not need much equipment and participation in the sport can be done independently of other competitors. Whether it’s before work, in the evening or during a lunch break, it is always possible to go for a run. Running has become a lucrative industry and there are a huge amount of products available aimed at improving and optimising your running experience. One thing that remains undisputed: jogging or running is good for endurance, supports the leg muscles and strengthens the cardiovascular system.
Running - it’s all about the equipment
Stepping into a running shop is often overwhelming. The multitude of offers can easily put-off those curious about trying out the sport. Footwear is the most important item and it is important to properly consider this. Inadequate footwear can lead to unnecessary strain which can affect the body. Feet and knee joints and even the spine can be permanently damaged. Good running shoes can be found from around £100. Aside from shoes, there are many running products available. There are heart rate monitors and running computers, MP3 players, running tights, running glasses, running jackets and running under garments. Everyone has to decide individually what they need and what tools he or she requires at the end of the day.
Find a level of running that suits you
Beginners are advised to begin training in small doses. Only a few minutes of running are sufficient to get the body accustomed to the stress. As a rule, you can quickly see for yourself whether the stress is good for your body or is a burden on it. Whilst participation in organised races or a running group are good ways of maintaining discipline, the most important part about running is to have fun!
