In the mountains you have to rely on your gear–100 %. Your hands need extra protection in snow and ice to prevent heat loss and hypothermia. At the same time, mountaineers depend on their dexterity when rock climbing and handling ropes, runners and carabiners and co safely. Roeckl Sports solves this contradiction with windproof Kadane. The concept: a sophisticated hooded glove with warming Thinsulate insulation. Not really a new idea? Ok. But thanks to its sophisticated details, the glove is an absolute winner in harsh conditions. The hood can be fastened to the back of the glove with Velcro. The three-dimensional thumb design featuring its own hood is an innovative idea. Another highlight is the Pull Off System on the middle and the ring finger: it makes it much easier to take the short-fingered gloves off. The backhand is made from supple Gore Windstopper soft shell, the thumb from Gore Windstopper Tornado. The supple palm consists of wear-resistant and waterproofed Duradero. Thanks to its silicone lining it offers the best possible grip when handling an ice pick or a ski pole. An integrated knitted cuff secures the glove snuggly around the wrist to keep the warm air inside the glove.
Windstopper Windproof and very breathable soft shell.
Duradero Durable and comfortable synthetic suede.
Silicone-Grip Maximum grip (in dry conditions) thanks to the silicone coating. Thinsulate Soft and compressable fibers that insulate from cold outside air. Pull Off System Exclusive pull off system from Roeckl to easily remove the short finger gloves from hands.
The gloves are ideal for cycling to about -5 ° C, because they do not let wind through, but are still very thin. They are very comfortable, but I had to order them one size bigger because both the length for the thumb and the width was too narrow.
