Very good, simple but effective cooker. You can also dose the heat well with the amount of wood. Logically, so fine wood must be well dry so that it burns well. Is also a small combustion chamber. But after the first risotto I have the oven under control. Cheap, good part.

I bought this oven in the late summer of 2017, as this type of cooker is used by various outdoor enthusiasts on Youtube again and again. In addition, the description inspired me, according to which you can allegedly burn leaves and small branches easily and thus is independent of extra fuel. So far the theory. In practice (3 inserts at different seasons) it has been shown that this oven - as probably other related cookers - does not work so easily. It is absolutely necessary to have 100% dry fuel available - this may need to be carried along. Fuel collected in the wild has only been extremely hard to ignite, no matter how much scale (birch bark, resin or wax) we have used. The material was always somehow too damp. A chimney effect only came into play when the fire burned after 1 hour of torment and puffing. In addition, fresh embers fall very quickly from the air openings on the ground, which is then missing in the development of the fire, or is very problematic for fire safety reasons. For a small meal zwisvchendurch definitely absolutely unsuitable. I will not give the oven a 4th chance. In the future only gas or alcohol, or then a "real" fire.
