New sustainable practices for the Nano Puff

Although the popular Nano Puff series may look the same, Patagonia is continually improving on their sustainability processes: the recycling rate has been increased, design improvements reduce waste products and emissions have also been drastically reduced. Also, the insulation in the 2020 Nano Puff was changed to the 100% recycled PrimaLoft Gold Isolation Eco.

Environmental & Social Responsibility at Patagonia

The Activist Company

1% FOR THE PLANET

Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, together with Craig Mathews founded the organization '1% for the Planet' in 2002: an international network of companies committed to donating one percent of their annual sales to environmental protection. Since its foundation in 1985, Patagonia has supported various environmental organisations, donating either one percent of their annual turnover or 10 percent of their profit, depending on which amount is greater. By 2019, an impressive $89m had been collected. The aim of this non-profit association is to motivate companies and individuals to make their own contribution to environmental protection.

Time to rethink

What's so special about recycling at Patagonia?

Sustainable production is essential so that we don't over-exploit and waste the earth's resources. For us to continue to enjoy nature to the fullest, Patagonia has made it a priority to protect the environment and to use 100% recycled and renewable materials in its products. Material designers and the entire development team are constantly working to create durable products from recycled and renewable materials.
