This cushioned, grippy trail runner is designed for those who want a lot of protection on even the most rugged trails. Version 4 was updated with a slightly thicker midsole made of the lighter-weight FloatPro foam and a new Vibram Megagrip outsole for even better grip on rock.

FlexConnect
Merrell FLEXconnect technology supports the natural flexing of a foot in motion to enhance agility on any terrain. Anatomically-inspired, bidirectional flex grooves allow the foot to move naturally on uneven ground, providing improved ground connection and stability.

FloatPro
Shoes that come with FloatPro foam midsoles provide a lightweight ride that lasts. Merrell knows that lightweight cushioning often comes with a durability trade-off. That’s why Merrell worked with their chemists to create a foam that saves weight compared to standard EVA. This featherweight formulation cushions, protects and maintains its resiliency, potentially increasing the life of your shoes.

Neutral

The neutral shoe or cushioning shoe is equipped without pronation support (the lateral support of the foot). It is therefore particularly suitable for runners who have a regular rolling behaviour, i.e. who do not bend inwards or outwards when running. The neutral shoe can be used in competitions, fast training or long endurance sessions. The cushioning can vary depending on the intended use. In order to achieve a more direct ground contact in competition, it is advisable to use a slightly damped shoe. In training on hard surfaces or with long units, more cushioned shoes offer better comfort and protect the joints.
