Addnature Tests:Craft Fuseknit Comfort Top & Pants

First impressions: feels good!

I knew right from the start that these were high-quality pieces! Everything is completely seamless and looks incredibly well processed. The under-top is equipped with perforated zones under the armpits and a fine stripe on the sides. On the pants, the ventilating zones are placed in the crotch and the hollows of the knees – also with the stripe detailing on the sides. In stark contrast to other functional underwear I’ve tried, the fit is body-hugging, but not tight-fitting everywhere - perfect for me! The size M top proved pleasantly long, so all my skin remained covered and no cold air could penetrate, even during activities involving intensive movement. The size M pants are very long and, in my opinion, more suitable for people over 1.90 m tall. The ribbed, wide cuffs at the end of the sleeves and trouser legs look high-quality and impressed me with their super hold. Both garments lie lightly and comfortably on the skin. In general, I like the pleasantly low-key style with its chic yet discreet mélange look.

The Practical Test: equipped for everything

I used the CRAFT base layers every chance I could - from mountain biking and jogging in my local woods to hiking in the Swabian hills. During medium and moderately-intense activities, they were always fantastically comfortable, with no rubbing or slipping at all. It was only during very strenuous, movement-intensive mountain biking sessions that the garments began to move about a bit. They’re not really designed for this kind of use, anyway, and tighter fitting ones would definitely be better for seriously rough and ready rides. In any case, they proved functional for all types of activity. Moisture was efficiently transported away from my body and I stayed dry and pleasantly warm - just as it should be! By not layering too thickly, the top and bottoms covered a wide range of temperatures. Depending on the weather, I combined them with more or less (functional) layers. In the future I’ll definitely use them for skiing and snowboarding, especially as having the longer cut of the undershirt and unrestricted wearing comfort is very important to me when I’m on the slopes.

My Conclusion: these are baselayers you can rely on
