Fifteen percent lighter than the previous iteration, this next-gen design is crafted with a breathable mesh upper, ultra-plush tongue and refined pull tab. The neutral shoe or cushioning shoe is equipped without pronation support (the lateral support of the foot). It is therefore particularly suitable for runners who have a regular rolling behaviour, i.e. who do not bend inwards or outwards when running. The neutral shoe can be used in competitions, fast training or long endurance sessions. The cushioning can vary depending on the intended use. In order to achieve a more direct ground contact in competition, it is advisable to use a slightly damped shoe. I have rarely if ever walked so comfortably!
In midsummer, the right shoe squeaked a little with every step due to the temperature, which I don't mind at all with the comfort offered.
I take between 8,000 and 16,000 steps a day and the profile in the central area of the ball of the foot has already worn away (for €150 it would be a bit of a shame, but I got it at a reduced price and can therefore ignore it).
I've been using the shoes since mid-April 2022, so almost exactly five months.
I decided on the Hoka One One Clifton 8 in WIDE because shoes are generally too narrow in the ball of my foot area.
Shoe size selected as usual.
first time wearing hoka and they fit perfectly right away!
