Blankets: a home comfort for your campsite
Having a blanket at the campsite to snuggle into or wrap around you is a luxury all campers should experience at least once. Some campers even opt for a blanket over a sleeping bag, as they’re lighter, more versatile and take up less volume. As with all camping products, we have a broad selection available. And just like sleeping bags, camping blankets are available stuffed with down and synthetic insulation, or without any insulation at all. So, if you want something that has a great warmth-to-packability ratio, look for down – but be prepared to pay more for a top model from a good brand. If you’re less concerned by weight and packing size, for example, if you’re driving to the campsite, a synthetic blanket might be ideal. Synthetic insulation offers more warmth in damp, humid conditions and dries much faster than down. We also offer a range of simple, uninsulated fleece blankets. Look out for blankets with fun graphics and patterns to add a splash of colour to your campsite.

Blankets

There aren't many things in life that can compare to the feeling of wrapping yourself in a soft, cosy blanket at the end of the day, but finding the perfect blanket can be surprisingly challenging. In addition to its level of cosiness, consumers looking to purchase a blanket should investigate whether or not it can be cleaned quickly and easily, whether it is appropriate for use throughout the year or is limited to a single season like camping blankets, and the kinds of materials and patterns that are offered.

As is the case with the majority of components of a bed, there is no one ideal blanket that is appropriate for everyone. Instead, you should base your decision on the needs and preferences that are unique to you as an individual.

We'll help you choose a blanket that's perfect for you, whether you like the texture of wool or cotton, whether you're looking for something affordable or extravagant, and whether you want to spend a lot or a little money.

What to Search for in Blanket

Fabric

By examining the material it is composed of, you may learn a great deal about a blanket. One advantage is that you can anticipate how it will feel, both in terms of feel and weight. Additionally, you may keep an eye out for possible irritants, such as the fact that wool may feel comfortable to some but scratchy to others. Synthetic fabrics like polyester may be cheaper, but they tend to keep heat, which can be uncomfortable for people who sleep hot.

Weight

Another crucial indicator of a blanket's efficacy is its weight, which is normally measured in grams per square meter. This is because grams per square meter are the standard unit for weighing blankets (or GSM). A blanket with a greater GSM will be heavier and warmer than one with a lower GSM. The usual weight of a blanket is around 200 GSM, which is suitable for use on its own during the summer but functions more effectively as an additional layer during the winter.

Size

Throw blankets are often available in a range of sizes that are fairly conventional. When it comes to bed blankets, however, there is a far wider range of sizes available. Keep in mind that cotton blankets tend to shrink, so you may want to search for one that is on the larger side if you buy one of the usual bedding sizes. Many blankets are available in normal bedding sizes.
