Our Mid Flex Pant was designed for hard work and epic adventures. Knee articulation and a durable, stretchy fabric combine for easy movement, while the DWR treatment keeps you clean and dry.

Climatic Mid
A very durable and versatile polyamide material with a soft cottontouch and good wind resistance, designed for use in a wide range of activities in many different climates. The fabric is comfortable, flexible and keeps its shape well thanks to the added weft stretch in
the fabric. Further, this material features a dull optic, plain weave structure, iron-free care and quick dry-time. The surface has been
treated with a durable water repellent (DWR) that is free from perfluorinated chemicals (PFC free DWR).

FlexAble
FlexAble are woven 4-way/2-way stretch fabrics providing an extremely high level of comfort and flexibility. These fabrics combine excellent vapour permeability with wind resistance and freedom of movement, which makes them ideal for use in garments for physically demanding outdoor activities. The outside of the fabric is water repellent and the inners are constructed to wick moisture rapidly away from the body. Many FlexAble fabrics are treated with a fluorocarbon free DWR, while some have a wicking treatment. Some FlexAble fabrics also have a water resistant or waterproof barrier (see specific styles for more details).

PFC-FREE DWR (FLUOROCARBON-FREE)
The durable water repellent action of our PFC-free DWR treatments comes from a hydrocarbon based, silicone based and/or wax based technology instead of fluorinated chemical. Irrespective of the ‘active ingredient’, all PFC-free DWR treatments used are totally free from all perfluorinated chemicals (PFC) (of course including both perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA)), free from other halogenated substances and free from alkylphenolethoxylates, including nonylphenolethoxylates. The possible drawbacks are that the oil repellency and the durability of the PFC-free DWR treatments may be slightly lower than for a PFC-containing option and therefore re-treatment for water repellency may be necessary at an earlier point in time. In all, we use very good, environmentally friendly alternatives to PFC-containing DWR treatments.
