Unfortunately, when the meadow was very dry (Camping Ellwangen, Pentecost weekend 2014), it began to bend. For very hard floors such as in Croatia, Provence, they will be suitable to a limited extent. Were afterwards in South Tyrol (meadow with some small gravel stones) and a total of 8 pieces are so bent that I had to stop hammering. The good thing is that they are easy to pull out and the light weight. I had promised more from the description. Very good pegs for a "normal" meadow.
