Hiking shorts are ideal for both short and long hikes in temperatures where you'd prefer to leave the long-legged version at home. They also work very well for camping trips, travelling, fishing and other outdoor activities. Models made of polyamides (nylon, aramid) are robust and hard-wearing, and, when mixed with polyester and wool, are also lightweight, quick-drying, breathable and moisture-regulating. As well as being comfortable to wear, they usually have practical pockets at the front, on the back and on the thighs – so maps and other essentials are always within easy reach. As with long hiking trousers, hiking shorts should follow every movement and be resistant to wind, rain and dirt in case of sudden weather changes.
