Sure, you can climb in just about any pair of trousers, but that doesn't mean you should. A pair of climbing (or bouldering) trousers should first and foremost offer you the flexibility to perform the complex movements and contorted positions the sport often demands. They should also be tough enough not to tear on rougher surfaces and offer some degree of protection for your legs. Climbing trousers are often articulated in particular areas - the knees, for example - to allow greater freedom of movement. Naturally, you also want them to look good, which is why you'll see climbing pants in various striking patterns and colours in our shop.​
