As a replacement for a scarf I find it too far cut, since it is rather loose around the neck hangs as this really to enclose. Therefore it does not protect against wind. But just because it sits loosely, it is also incredibly comfortable to wear without being cramped. For me rather as a supplementary cladding layer, rather than as a schalersatz.
